Bluewater Houseboats are located on Shuswap Lake, British Columbia, in the town of Sicamous, and is the halfway point between Vancouver and Calgary and a short drive from Kamloops or Kelowna making it very convenient to get to and start your great vacation.

Shuswap Lake is a houseboaters paradise where you can relax and enjoy the scenery of beautiful British Columbia and fun times with family and friends enjoying water recreation and fishing. The water is calm with ideal temperatures for swimming in July and August.
 



Houseboats:

Bluewater Houseboats is family owned with more than 30 year’s experience offering eight models to choose from. The top of the line model is the Key West, a 65’ houseboat that sleeps 21. Included with this model:

  • Fully equipped kitchen
  • Stove/oven
  • Refrigerator
  • Microwave
  • Coffee pot
  • Toaster
  • Dining table, converts into double bed
  • 2 full bathrooms
  • 4 staterooms with double beds
  • Sleeping loft with 2 double mattresses
  • 3 cuddies, 2 double, 1 single (small room/compartment)
  • 1 sofa bed
  • Fireplace
  • TV
  • CD/DVD player
  • 8 person hot tub
  • Waterslide
  • Swim ladder
  • Flybridge

Other “Hot Tub” models available are:

  • Liner II – 68’ – sleeps 17
  • Liner I – 62’ – sleeps 16
  • Sunseeker – 50’ sleeps 12
  • Marquis – 56’ – sleeps 12
  • Luxury Cruiser – 49’ – sleeps 49

There are two smaller models available that do not include a hot tub:

  • Super Sport – 46’ – sleeps 10
  • Sportcruiser – 40’ – sleeps 8

Parking and provincial parks permits are included at no additional cost Consult their website for full details on each of the models and amenities. Take note that you should bring deck chairs or notify the office beforehand who will supply a few at no charge.


Rental Periods:
  • 2 night weekend
  • 3 night midweek
  • 6 nights

Experience Required:

Previous experience is not required. You will be provided instruction on operating the houseboat, safety requirements, how to read maps and information about the lake. You must be 21 years of age or older and hold a valid driver’s licence.


Licensing:

You do not require a boating license (Pleasure Craft Operator Card) to rent a houseboat. Prior to departure you will be provided a safety checklist for review. Be sure to ask any questions if you are not sure. Once completed you will be issued a temporary license that is good for your trip. You will need to keep this document readily available if request by officials.

Linens:

Linens are not provided however bedding packages are available for rent for $15 per person (must reserve at time of booking). Bedding packages includes sheets, blanket, pillow and bath towels.


Pets:

“Non-shedding” small dogs are allowed subject to a $50 fee plus taxes. Cats are not permitted.


Additional Costs:

There are a number of additional costs that you should budget for during your vacation and will depend on the duration of your trip and the distance traveled. Each operator has different policies and should be discussed directly with them. Some costs will or may include:

  • Fuel
  • Environmental fee
  • Insurance
